So, if you’re still on the fence about the popular pet product, read on. I’m going to break down my (and my pup’s) full experience with these sought-after stainless-steel bowls.

What is the Yeti Boomer Dog Bowl?

It goes without saying, but the Yeti Boomer Bowls are so popular (in part) because of the brand. Yeti is known and trusted to deliver quality, durable products. And these bowls are no exception, they’re made to be indestructible and dent-resistant.

In addition to being highly durable, the thick, double-wall stainless steel is both rust-resistant and non-porous. So, the bowls are easy to get completely clean, ensuring a sanitary eating and drinking experience for your pup. They’re perfect for water, kibble and other type of grub, including wet and homemade foods.

Yeti Boomer Dog Bowl Product Features

The Yeti Dog Bowl offers a 4-cup size for smaller pups and an 8-cup size for larger dogs. The smaller size weighs slightly over a pound and measures just under 7 inches wide and about 3 inches tall. On the other hand, the larger bowl weighs around 2 pounds, has an 8-inch width and stands 3-1/2 inches tall.

You have a choice of six colors including neutrals, stainless steel and a vibrant seafoam. Each bowl can be personalized with a graphic, monogram, text or you can upload your own unique design for a completely one-of-a-kind accessory for Fido.

To prevent any unwanted sliding across the floor while your furry friend enjoys their meal, each bowl features a non-slip ring on the bottom. The rubber footing not only keeps the bowl in place but also helps minimize water splashing.

How We Tested It

The Yeti Boomer Dog Bowls are undeniably stylish, but I needed to confirm their durability and ease of cleaning to figure out if they are really an essential puppy product. Specifically, I wanted to know if they retained ice and kept water cold like the Yeti Rambler line, given their shared kitchen-grade stainless steel composition.

Although the Boomer Dog Bowls lack insulation like the brand’s beloved tumblers, I had high hopes for their performance. To test them, I compared their temperature retention with a standard ceramic bowl of the same size using water, ice water and dog food.

After leaving both bowls filled with water throughout the day, I discovered that the Boomer Bowl kept water colder for a bit longer. Ice testing revealed that while it didn’t match the longevity of Yeti’s insulated cups, it outperformed a regular bowl in preserving ice.

I also used the Yeti dog bowl to feed my pup raw meat cuts. And I did feel like the meat was better contained and held together by the thick stainless steel construction. Cleanup was easier, too: A simple wipe and dishwasher cycle left the bowl looking and feeling spotless.

Additionally, the Boomer Dog Bowls stayed in place even without a silicone mat, making them ideal for my energetic German Shepherd, Henry. He also seemed to enjoy drinking water from the Yeti bowl, possibly due to the taste of the cool water out of a big metal bowl. Or, maybe he just likes the look of the bowls as much as I do.

FAQ

Does the Yeti dog bowl keep water cold?

While the Yeti Boomer Bowls are not insulated, they are made with the same high-quality, food-safe stainless steel as Yeti Rambler Drinkware. However, we found in our testing that the bowls kept water cold a little longer than a thin ceramic bowl of the same size.

Are Yeti bowls safe for dogs?

Yeti Boomer Bowls are completely food-safe and BPA-free. They’re also easy to keep clean and sanitary as they’re dishwasher-safe, too.

Stainless steel dog bowls are also non-porous, so they don’t hold onto harmful bacteria. That’s especially important if you serve your dog wet food or meat cuts on a regular basis.

What Other Reviewers Had to Say

The Yeti Boomer Bowl boasts more than 5,400 five-star ratings on Amazon and nearly 1,000 five-star reviews at Yeti. Here’s what some of the happy customers have to say.

Verified Amazon purchaser Erin Fanning is a fan of the Boomer for serving water, and calls out how easy it is to clean, too. “My puppy would grab his water bowl and fling the water everywhere. I bought this bowl because it is large (plenty of room for freeboard), tough (stands up to puppy teeth), and hefty (hard for him to set his teeth on it or lift it),” she says.

Satisfied shopper Maddie says it’s “worth every penny!!” She explains: “After looking at several knockoffs I decided to order the real thing! As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!! My fur baby deserves only the best and this is it! It’s just the perfect size for my 70 lb. boy & keeps his water fresh all day long!”

Verified purchaser Mateo agrees, writing, “Yeti is the best.” He adds: “Great product. Expensive sure but this will last a life time. Very durable and easy to clean.”

Final Verdict

If you’re looking to splurge a little on your beloved fur baby with a long-lasting, high-quality product, I absolutely recommend the Yeti Boomer Dog Bowl. It combines functionality with a visually-appealing design and you can even personalize it with your dog’s name or image. Best of all, my pup Henry loves his Yeti bowls—and what’s better than making your pets happy?

Where to Buy the Yeti Boomer Dog Bowl

The 4-cup Yeti Boomer Dog Bowl retails for $40, while the 8-cup bowl is priced at $50. I suggest purchasing directly from the Yeti site, as they offer free customization. However, if you’re willing to forego customization and prefer the convenience of Prime, you can find the bowls on Amazon, which actually offers a broader selection of color options compared to the Yeti website. And if you want to further spoil your pooch, check out these dog bowl alternatives.
