Since owning my Dyson cordless vacuum, I have been a firm believer that Dyson makes some of the absolute best stick vacuums out there. Dyson vacuums are popular (and pricey) for a reason. They have impressive cleaning power and advanced technological features. Plus, they’re easy to operate and maneuver. Now, whenever Dyson drops a product, my Spidey senses tingle.
Knowing just how good Dyson vacuums really are from personal experience, I was eager to learn more about their latest floor-cleaning device: The WashG1, Dyson’s first wet floor cleaner. You heard correctly: This new device tackles wet (and dry) debris in one go. Knocked over a bowl of cereal? No problem. The WashG1 can take care of it. All of it.
The latest from Dyson floor care technology, the WashG1 is designed to clean wet and dry messes on hard floors, specifically across large spaces of tile, laminate, vinyl and sealed wood floors. Its 27-ounce clean water tank covers up to 3,100 square feet, and the device runs up to 35 minutes on one charge.
The WashG1 cleans floors using a combination of hydration, absorption and extraction. It automatically separates dry debris from wet for no-touch waste removal. Here’s how it works: Two motorized microfiber rollers at the back and front of the machine counter-rotate to simultaneously remove wet and dry messes. The rollers flush with clean water throughout the process so as not to spread dirty messes across the floor. The device has the classic Dyson maneuverability to glide around furniture effortlessly.
You can adjust the hydration level on the WashG1 depending on what you’re cleaning. For instance, light spills and debris only require level one hydration, while sticky spills and mud might need level three.
After you’ve finished cleaning, simply dump the dirty water tank (it’s easy to remove, and you don’t have to touch the dirty water) and empty the debris tray into the trash. The debris tray is quickly removed with the touch of a button and has a no-touch, hygienic emptying mechanism. When it’s back on its dock, the WashG1 charges and cleans itself by flushing its system. It will be ready to go again in a little over two minutes for your next clean.
And, to prove Dyson has thought of everything with this cleaning machine, it’s designed without sharp internal crevices to help reduce buildup inside the machine.
The WashG1 retails for $700 directly from Dyson, and you’ll currently receive two additional microfiber rollers free of charge.
The Dyson V12 Slim is a compact, lightweight cordless vacuum. It weighs just 4.8 pounds yet has 30 percent more suction power than the Dyson V8, which is essential for keeping your space clean if you suffer from backaches and pain.
It has two cleaner heads: a standard de-tangling head and a fluffy head with a green light to reveal and pick up dust on hard floors. Plus, it comes with five accessories for crevice and upholstery cleaning. Its LCD screen displays battery life, runtime, particles picked up when a clog occurs and more. It also converts into a handheld vacuum to clean furniture and cars.
This product is part of Dyson’s line of air purifiers, all tower-style models with cooling functions. The Formaldehyde model (model TP09) detects, captures and destroys formaldehyde by converting it to water and CO₂.
“The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde is a high-end air purifier and cooling fan that lives up to its claims,” says home improvement writer Elizabeth Heath in her Dyson air purifier fan review. “The cooling features are excellent, as this tower fan really serves as a great way to cool a single room.”
As Dyson’s largest cordless stick vacuum, the Dyson Outsize Plus is excellent for deep cleaning medium to large homes. It has high suctioning power for pulling up impressive amounts of hair and dirt and laser beam technology to capture dust particles. Plus, it’s equipped with an extra-large cleaning head and receptacle bin, so you can tackle more surface area with each go—without emptying the vacuum.
“Overall, I was extremely impressed with the Dyson Outsize Plus. Between cleaning my carpets, floors, furniture and car, it truly is a full-service hair removal machine,” says our tester Nancy Snyder in her review of the Dyson Outsize Plus.
